WHAT IS VERTICAL MOLDING?
Vertical, or vertical injection molding is a specialized technique used in plastic injection molding processes. Unlike traditional horizontal injection molding, where the mold halves open and close horizontally, vertical molding machines have a vertical clamping mechanism.
In vertical molding, the mold halves are positioned vertically, with one half mounted on the stationary platen of the molding machine and the other half on the moving platen. The injection unit, which houses the screw and barrel, is located above the mold cavity and injects molten plastic material into the mold from a vertical direction.
